Joe has 18 years of experience in land use planning, business/economic development and public policy. He serves as a principal consultant at Plan 4 Land, LLC where he helps public clients promote smart growth, ensure successful community planning, obtain funding for capital improvements and promote responsible public policy. He also serves as a private consultant in researching land use opportunities and threats, developing land use plans, business plans, feasibility plans and overseeing the development review process. His clientele is a mix of public, private and non-profit clients.

With experience in seeing local governments struggle with public records law, Joe worked with Jack Henry in 2017 to form Firebox Records, LLC with the sole interest of helping his clients collaborate to save money, become better organized, operate more efficiently and easily comply with public record requests. He has overseen implementation of document management systems in the public sector and is experienced in finding the best solution for his clients.

Joe has a Master of Public Administration in Public Policy & Management from The Ohio State University, John Glenn School of Public Affairs. He has a Bachelor of Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati, School of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning (DAAP). He maintains certification with the American Institute of Certified Planners. He served as a local government administrator for over a decade before entering the private sector. His business goals are to build quality communities and help local governments be more efficient and productive with public tax dollars.

As co-owner of Sunny Kid Farm, LLC with his wife, Stephanie, his hobby is raising show-quality meat goats and working with his son, Andrew, and daughter, Abby, who show the livestock in 4-H. He enjoys farming, camping, fishing, woodworking and otherwise spending time on the family farm.
